Software for subcontracting between fireworks companies

Sell the show, hand over the firing, share the dossier without showing your price: peak season is a team sport.

From mid-June to mid-August, no company fires every show it has sold on its own. Subcontracting between fireworks display companies is the norm: one signs with the town or the private client, the other brings a crew, sometimes the equipment and the products, and fires the display on the night. Arrangements vary: a full crew as reinforcement, a single pyrotechnician to complete a team, or the complete takeover of a show the seller could no longer cover. Everything is decided quickly, often by phone, between people who have known each other for years.

That is where trouble starts. The sale price of the show has no reason to circulate: the subcontractor gets an agreed fee, not the seller’s margin. You need to know who files which declaration with the authority, who is named as the person in charge of firing, who insures the products during transport and on site, and whether each policy actually covers work carried out for a third party. Seasonal crew must have a written contract, in France often a seasonal fixed-term contract (CDDU). A question left open in spring gets expensive in July.

PyroDesk shares a dossier with another company without exposing the client price: the subcontractor sees the venue, the schedule, the firing plan, the racks, the authority declaration and the attachments, never the quote or the invoice. Missions are assigned to their pyrotechnicians, seasonal fixed-term contracts are signed online, and the internal messaging keeps every exchange attached to the dossier. When a crew is missing, the national notices flag your request to available pyrotechnicians nearby. Each side invoices its own part from its own accounting.

Frequently asked questions

Who files the declaration when I subcontract the firing?

It depends on the arrangement you choose: the contract holder, the pyrotechnician in charge of firing, or both may appear on the declaration. Put it in writing before the event, then confirm with the competent authority, which alone decides which arrangement it accepts.

Does my insurance cover a show fired for another company?

Not necessarily. Some policies exclude subcontracted work or cap cover for products stored at a third party’s premises. Ask your insurer for a certificate that explicitly mentions services performed for another professional, and require the same from your colleague before loading the truck.

How do I share a dossier without revealing the sale price?

In PyroDesk, one subcontractor link per dossier shows only the operational side: firing plan, racks, site map, declaration and attachments. Quote, contract and invoice are never transmitted through that link. You can therefore subcontract a show to a direct competitor without opening up your price list.
