A pyrotechnician's stock is not managed like a shop's. Every item has a calibre, a lot, an expiry date and a net explosive content that counts towards the magazine's licensed capacity. A handwritten ledger drifts quickly: two cases of 100 mm shells taken out for a wedding, noted 'later', then forgotten. You find the gap on set-up day, or keep expired candles on the shelf that nobody dares to fire any more. And when the authorities ask for the state of the magazine, nobody has the figure.
PyroDesk keeps stock in real time: items with their calibre and category, quantities, lots with expiry dates, net explosive content per item and for the whole magazine, stage jets. Each show file consumes stock when its firing plan is validated, and each delivery replenishes it. You set a threshold per item and receive an automatic alert when it is crossed. Lots close to expiry are flagged so they can be fired first or returned to the supplier.
End of May, you are preparing the season order. Stock shows 38 crackling 75 mm shells left, but the firing plans of the eight July shows call for 120: the alert is already on screen. You also see that a lot of 30 mm candles expires on 15 August, right after the neighbouring village's mid-August show — you assign them to that display. The supplier order goes out with the real missing quantities, not an estimate, and the magazine's explosive content stays under the licensed ceiling.
