Built-in accounting for fireworks companies

Revenue, expenses, profit per show and an FEC export for your accountant, computed from the files you already keep.

A pyrotechnician's bookkeeping tends to happen in two phases: the season, when you fire and invoice without looking at the numbers, then winter, when everything is retyped into a spreadsheet for the accountant. In between, there is no way to tell whether a town's national-day show was actually profitable once the fireworks, the subcontractor, the truck and two seasonal staff on CDDU contracts were paid. And the accountant asks for a ledger file the spreadsheet cannot produce.

PyroDesk computes revenue from invoices, sets the expenses you record against it (fireworks purchases, subcontracting, travel, wages) and gives you the profit overall and per file. Payment tracking shows what has been collected and what is still owed; bank reconciliation matches incoming transfers with invoices. The FEC export produces the accounting-entries file in the format French accountants expect, for the financial year or the period you choose, with no re-entry.

Mid-September, the season is fired. You open the accounts: 41 shows invoiced, three invoices still unpaid, including a council to chase. Profit per file shows that wedding displays paid better than village festivals, because of travel. You run the FEC export from January to September and send it to the accountant, who prepares the interim statement without calling you back for a missing document. The winter stock order is decided on real figures.

Frequently asked questions

What is the FEC export?

The Fichier des Écritures Comptables is the ledger format French tax authorities and chartered accountants ask for. PyroDesk generates it from your invoices and expenses for the chosen period; you send it as is to your accountant.

How does bank reconciliation work?

Transfers received on your account are matched with the invoices of won files. You can see which invoice is settled, which is partly paid and which is still outstanding, without ticking off a statement by hand.

Can I see the profitability of a single show?

Yes. Each file shows what it brought in and what it cost: fireworks consumed, subcontracting, travel, labour. Profit per file lets you compare weddings, village festivals and technical services, and decide which kind of show to favour next season.
