Definition
In Belgium, pyrotechnic articles of categories F4, T2 and P2 are reserved, as elsewhere in the Union, for persons with specialist knowledge. The Pyropass is the title attesting to that knowledge: it is obtained after recognised training and serves as the pyrotechnician's professional card to buy, hold and use those products, within a framework run by the FPS Economy, which sets its conditions and updates them. It sits alongside the other Belgian obligations, which differ from the French model: the authorisation of the burgomaster of the municipality where the display takes place, usually after the opinion of the rescue zone and the local police, and, for storage, an environmental permit issued by the Region. Categories and CE marking are those of Directive 2013/29/EU, transposed by the Royal Decree of 20 October 2015.

A French pyrotechnician firing in Wallonia or Brussels needs a partner or a recognised title and the burgomaster's consent, not a CERFA.
