Category F4

Definition

Category F4 gathers fireworks presenting a high hazard, intended for use only by persons with specialist knowledge, whose noise level is not harmful to health: shells of 75 mm and above, large-calibre candles, professional cakes, set pieces, mines. There is no standardised safety distance: the manufacturer's instructions set it. In France the acquisition, possession and use of F4 articles are restricted to holders of the F4-T2 qualification certificate or a prefectoral approval, and any display containing even a single one requires CERFA 14098 one month in advance. F4 storage is subject to magazine rules and transport to ADR class 1. F4 articles correspond to the former K4 group.

In practice, for the display company

F4 is the heart of the trade and of the regulation: one in the firing plan and the job changes regime. PyroDesk detects the presence of F4 automatically, requires a level 2 supervisor, triggers the CERFA and blocks the stock withdrawal if no certified person is assigned to the job.
