Definition
Fireworks are class 1 dangerous goods under the ADR agreement: UN 0333 (1.1G), UN 0334 (1.2G), UN 0335 (1.3G), UN 0336 (1.4G) and UN 0337 (1.4S). Most professional products are classified 1.3G or 1.4G. The ADR allows lightened carriage below the quantities of sub-section 1.1.3.6, expressed as net explosive mass per transport unit: 20 kg for 1.3G (transport category 1), 333 kg for 1.4G (category 2), unlimited for 1.4S. Below these thresholds the driver must still carry the transport document, an extinguisher, observe the no-smoking rule and hold the so-called "1.3" awareness training; above them a driver with an ADR certificate including the class 1 specialisation, an EX/II or EX/III vehicle and orange plates are required. Mixed loads of several divisions are calculated under the most severe rule.

Loading two shows into the same van quickly pushes past 20 kg of 1.3G.
