Definition
The pyrotechnic stock is the whole of the fireworks, theatrical articles and firing consumables (igniters, fuse, P1 devices) held by the company, described reference by reference with category, calibre, net explosive content, ADR hazard division, batch, expiry date and location in the magazine. Managing it answers three logics: regulatory, because the in-and-out register and the total net explosive content held are inspected; operational, because every firing plan draws on stock and the returns from a show (unused, duds, unfired products) must come back into it; financial, because fireworks tie up cash for months before the season. Stock is distinct from the inventory, which is its counted snapshot at a given date.
In practice, for the display company
Stock moves with the jobs: reserved at quote, withdrawn at loading, returned after the show. PyroDesk tracks these states per reference and per batch, separates available from reserved so the same 200 mm shell is not sold twice, and updates the net explosive content held in the magazine on every movement.
