A group chat is the most natural tool in the world for a fireworks crew: fast, on the phone, with photos. It works very well for “leaving the depot now” or “it’s raining, we’re pushing the set-up back”. It works far less well for anything that needs to last more than a few hours: the exact site address, the rack list, the latest version of the firing plan, the call time the client changed. Those messages exist somewhere in the thread, between two voice notes.
With email the problem flips: the information is filed, but differently for everyone. The subcontractor received the plan as an attachment on Monday, the correction on Thursday, and fires Monday’s version. A seasonal worker’s contract is still a draft. The reinforcement found by word of mouth never confirmed in writing. On the day, coordination rests on the memory of the person who sent everything, and that person is also the one firing.
In PyroDesk the conversation is not separate from the work. Every show has its group, attached to the dossier, where the firing plan shown is always the latest. The subcontractor receives a link to their portal: show day, firing mode, racks, site plan and declaration, without ever seeing the sale price. Missions are assigned by name, seasonal contracts are signed online, and if a pyrotechnician is missing, a national listing finds someone available nearby.
