Definition
Category T2 designates theatrical pyrotechnic articles that may only be used by persons with specialist knowledge: large gerbs, flames several metres high, stage comets and mines, concert effects, devices for destroying scenery or for stunts. In France they share the F4 regime: F4-T2 qualification certificate or prefectoral approval for acquisition and use, and CERFA 14098 declaration one month before the show as soon as a single T2 article is used, even indoors and whatever the net explosive content. That is why the French certificate covers both categories under one title. T2 articles are common in large productions, tours and close-proximity pyromusical shows, where they allow effects a few metres from the audience that F4 articles would rule out.
In practice, for the display company
A single T2 article in an indoor wedding and the job needs a CERFA with one month's notice, which the client rarely knows. PyroDesk applies the same rule as for F4, requires the certified person and the lead time, and explains it to the client on the quote, where the regulatory regime is stated.
